About FOSS Trade Show

The TradeShow " FOSS&Linux Solutions " as a specialized Exhibition of the Free/Open source software (FOSS) and appropriate IT- solutions on the FOSS basis, will pass in Ukraine capital for the first time, and we hope that it becomes regular. In developed countries similar actions for a long time became habitual. But in Ukraine the corporate and state structures now approach to a side behind which wide FOSS using turns from simple alternative to an absolute necessity.

What are the exhibition purposes?

First, as customers from the state and educational sector, just as private consumers, should see the computer can be used effectively not only with "proprietary" software, but with FOSS in the same way. And that FOSS gives greater functionality in office work, just as in specific areas or computer games - as well as in habitual "proprietary" software. In fact that FOSS is a world technological trend - but in Ukraine the "wide consumer" have lack information about this.

Second - we wish to demonstrate that IT-solutions on the FOSS basis (and on proprietary basis application software with Free/Open operational systems) is absolutely ready to use (and saving money!) in many areas.

Third, we wish to show that a FOSS using is simply as well as with any other modern software, and that the opinion about extreme FOSS "complexity" is rather a myth. For this purpose within the TradeShow time a number of seminars and brief training courses will be lead.

Fourth, we wish to point for users the right way to FOSS support and consultations in fields of installation and application using.

Fifth, we assume to begin mutual acquaintance of hardware and software manufacturers to a network of the Ukrainian Association of developers and users, which at present is at formation stage.
